Dr. Wai-yee Chan, Lecturer and Associate Programme Director – MSc in EPHM of the Department of Biology of Hong Kong Baptist University, and a group of students majoring in Bioresource and Agricultural Science visited the O · PARK1 in March. O · PARK1 is the first organic resources recovery centre. It is located at Siu Ho Wan of North Lantau which adopts anaerobic digestion
technology to convert food waste into biogas for
electricity generation whilst the residues from the process can be produced as compost for landscaping and agriculture use. Thanks to O · PARK1’s representatives for leading the teacher and students to visit the facilities and introducing the latest food waste management technologies.
香港浸會大學師生參觀有機資源回收中心第1期 (O · PARK1)
3月份香港浸會大學浸大生物系講師、「環境及公共衛生管理理學碩士學位」副課程主任陳慧儀博士與一眾生物資源和農業科學理學士的同學參觀位於北大嶼山小蠔灣的有機資源回收中心第1期。O · PARK1 是香港首個有機資源回收中心，採用厭氧分解技術將廚餘轉化為生物氣以作發電，過程中產生的殘餘物可轉成為副產品堆肥，用於園林綠化和農業生產用途。感謝O·PARK1代表帶領老師和學生參觀設施，介紹最新的廚餘管理技術，特別是堆肥過程的技術細節。
