Innovative Service-Learning by Students in BIOL4067/7190 Sustainable Urban Environment
 
In Semester 2 of the 2024-25 academic year, students from the captioned course are engaged in a meaningful service-learning activity. Throughout the semester, they conducted extensive desktop research, developed engaging board games, and facilitated workshops to raise awareness among secondary school students about climate change issues. Through these games, participants gained a deeper understanding of climate change, its impacts, and the importance of mitigation and adaptation strategies, all through an interactive, game-based learning approach. We extend our gratitude to Heung To Middle School and Ho Ngai College (Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen) for organising and participating in the workshops, and to the HKBU Centre for Innovative Service-Learning, the Institute of Creativity, and the Hung Hin Shiu Charitable Foundation for their financial support.
