Prof. Qiu Jianwen has been awarded HK$2,356,600 from the Lantau Conservation Fund (LCF) 2024/25. This funding supports his ecological study, titled “Diversity, Abundance and Distribution of Epibenthic Fauna from Western Lantau Waters”.
Professor Qiu’s project will address a significant knowledge gap in Hong Kong’s marine biodiversity. Despite their critical role in coastal ecosystems, epibenthic animals—species that live on the seabed—remain largely unstudied in the turbid western Lantau waters.
