The HKBU Student-led Competition “Sustainable Futures: Green x Silver” Student Innovation Challenges 2026 is officially launched on 19 March 2026. More than 70 participants, including senior management representatives of the Department of Biology, honoured guests from the Chinachem Group, and undergraduates and postgraduate students attended the Kick-off Ceremony. The competition empowers students to develop creative, actionable, high-impact ideas that advance low-carbon development and the silver economy in Hong Kong by tackling real-world cases. It is co-organised by the HKBU 1st Agricultural Society (established in March 2026), and the Department of Biology, and sponsored by the Chinachem Group.

- Green x Silver Co-crafting & Circularity
- Green x Silver Co-farming & Nutrition
Eligibility
- All HKBU Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students
- Teams of 3 to 5 members
Awards & Certificates
- Outstanding Award: HKD5,000 for each theme
- Best Business Solutions Award: HKD2,000
- Most innovative Award: HKD2,000
- Winning team may have the chance to present in Chinachem Sustainability Event on 12 June 2026
- All eligible participants will receive a certificate of participation, HKD100 coupon & record in the Student Learning Experience System (SLES)
- Coupon will be issued upon participation in the competition and are available while stocks last, and registrations after 18 Apr may not receive a coupon
