Site visit to Nina Park and Pine Care Residential Care Homes for the Elderly

Date

To help participants of the “Sustainable Futures: Green x Silver” Student Innovation Challenge 2026 「可持續未來:綠色 x 銀髮」學生創新挑戰賽2026 gain a deeper understanding of current low-carbon practices in buildings, elderly care centre operations, and the needs of the ‘silver generation’, a site visit to Nina Park and Pine

Care Residential Care Homes for the Elderly was arranged on 19 April 2026.

We kicked off at Hexagon Cinema in Nina Park, a cosy theatre inspired by the volcanic hexagonal rock columns of Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark. Representatives from Chinachem Group, including Ms Cherry Lau (Senior Officer, ESG), Mr Angus Chan (Director, Elderly Care Services), and Ms Joe Chu (Senior Marketing Manager, Elderly Care Services), shared insights into CCG's ESG policies, elderly care strategies, and silver economy initiatives.

Guided tours at Pine Care Centres (New Pine Care at Kwun Tong and Pine Care Point at Shek Pik Mei) provided firsthand exposure to elderly needs, age-friendly services, and ideas for improving quality of life. These experiences gave participants a real-world look at how low carbon innovation and the silver economy intersect. We're energized to tackle future sustainability challenges!
