Dr. Huijuan Tan is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Hong Kong Baptist University. She received her Ph.D. from the CAS Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Science and completed her postdoctoral training at Southern University of Science and Technology in Professor Hongwei Guo’s lab. Dr. Tan’s research primarily focuses on RNA regulation, including RNA decay and small RNA-mediated gene silencing. RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) play essential roles in these processes and many of them have the ability to undergo phase separation. Her work investigates the phase separation of RBPs and its biological significance, which will greatly contribute to our understanding of the complex network of RNA expression
