Overview

Dr. Hailei Zhang completed his PhD in Molecular Biology at HKBU, where he was awarded the prestigious Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme. Dr. Zhang is currently a Research Assistant Professor. Prior to this role, he served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from September 2023 to June 2024. His research experience also includes a position as a Senior Research Assistant before commencing his PhD program.

 

Dr. Zhang brings over seven years of experience in the emerging field of RNA NAD capping in Arabidopsis, E. coli, and various eukaryotic systems. He has authored multiple influential publications, including those in PNAS and Nature Protocols. His expertise in developing innovative methodologies to study RNA NAD capping has led to the detection of hidden NAD-capped RNA species in E. coli, Arabidopsis, yeast, and human cells.
